Mixed Blood Theatre production of "Minnecanos"

Friday, September 28 the Mixed Blood Theatre will present Minnecanos, a play dramatizing Latino life in Minnesota. Performance is at 7:30 pm, and there will be time after for conversation with the players. Admission is $12 ($10 members of the Center) and $5 for students. This photograph is from the Mixed Blood Theatre 2002 production. A new cast will play the parts in this year's production.

Board Chair Randy Clarksean to host fundraiser

Cultural Center Board Chair Randy Clarksean will prepare an authentic Italian meal as a fundraiser for the Center. All proceeds from the September 22 event will go to the Center. Cost is $50 per person with a maximum attendance of 20.

Randy plans for a gourmet Italian supper with multiple courses and fine wine. If you would like more information, please contact the Center at 218-385-3339.

Tim Cassidy places a new sculpture in the Sculpture Park

This past Saturday Tim Cassidy put a new sculpture in the Sculpture Park. This marks the beginning of what we hope will be a revitalization of the Park with new works and more amenities (that is, shade and tables) for visitors. The first photograph below (these three photographs are provided by Heather Cassidy) shows the new sculpture that is now in the Park. The others are works Tim is preparing for his upcoming show to open on October 16. The title of the show is Reclaimed: Structural Steel Sculptures.

Finn Shui Exhibit runs until October 13

Shirlee Aho Daulton and Sandra Daulton Shaughnessy have a new exhibit of clay works, mixed media, and prints. The artists' reception will be September 15 from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm, just before the Four Shadow concert that night.

Deb Jenkins Quartet

Saturday night the Deb Jenkins Quartet from Fargo gave a fine concert at the Center. Before the concert many of the folks in attendance enjoyed dinner at the Creamery featuring one of Deb Jenkins favorite recipes as given in her autobiographical cookbook.
